Hey, I’m Alina!
Alina Garcia is a singer and actress based in NYC who is a graduate (’23) of the Juilliard Pre-College Voice program and enjoys all things theatre and film! Recent projects include the staged and filmed reading of Final Resting Place, America’s Favorite Pastime Is Murder (written by Ali MacLean), Anne Frank, a Musical (Off-Broadway, Actors Temple Theatre), and SINNER (release date TBD), a J&M Productions short film which she both starred in and produced.
Initially a musical theater student, a classical voice education led her to the operatic stage at the Houston Grand Opera, The Historic San Antonio Missions, and Juilliard’s Paul Hall. Classical/legit highlights include The Phoenix (Houston Grand Opera), Lift Every Voice and Sing Concert (The Juilliard School), Music at the Missions San Antonio (Opera Hispanica). She’s also sung in concerts and cabarets at venues like 54 Below and Carnegie Hall.
Alina was named the New York winner of the Music Teachers National Association voice competition, and was a finalist for the regional Roger Rees Awards. Currently satiating her musical appetite is her membership in Tinseltones NYC’s ensemble this holiday season!
On screen, Alina has made appearances in commercials, TV and short films. Her favorite on-camera role is Josephine Otero in season 6, episode 2 of Murder Made Me Famous. Alina looks forward to future opportunities to produce from behind-the-scenes.
Theater being her first love, Houston’s The Alley Theater was her first taste of the stage in their 2015 production of A Christmas Carol in which she donned a schoolboy/street urchin wig throughout the 25-show season. Following training roles include Serena Katz (Fame: The Musical), Roxy Hart (Chicago), DeeDee Allen (The Prom). Off-Broadway credits include Anne Frank, a Musical (David Serero Productions), and The Frankenstein Project (An Electric Black Experience).
TX born-and-raised, Alina is excited to be at the beginning of her career journey in NYC. Special interests are guitar, piano, violin, songwriting, and open-water scuba diving. Find her in the poetry section of your local bookstore!
